Photographer’s Note
Piran, Slovenia, view from the city walls down on the town.
Piran is an old Mediterranean town situated at the tip of the Piran peninsula - a gem of medieval arcitecture on Slovene adriatic coast. Walking up to the top of the hill you will find the two-hundred-meter long remains of the former town fortifications built in late 15th and early 16th centuries (which look like a castle from the distance). These walls are a must climb-up, offering an amazing view of Piran.
The most prominent building on the right is Cathedral of St. George. In fact, it is possible to climb to the top of the clock tower for more stunning views! Another Piran celebrity is Piazza Tartini.
