One swallow still doesn't bring spring Photo

Photographer’s Note

Dedicated specially to Miuky and Marjan... ...and also to all other TE members ;))

I don't know how it's in your language, but in my language is: "Ena lastovka še ne prinese pomladi" and I hope I made a right translation.

The picture was taken just few days before the changing of the weather - we were hit by cold, snow, wind... Well, not exactly by the sea, but just 30 km from here was plenty of snow.

ps: I can't post it in a Humorous category... there's nothing funny here... just a facts of the nature. So it's obvious the Nature category ;))

Great capture. And meaningful headlne. In Russia we say the same way "Odna lastoczka vesny ne prinosit" (I used Polish spelling). The pictue looks abstract and sureal. The blue makes it really cold. An dit looks colder with the only person on the balcony the others being closed...

We say "One swallow doesn't make a summer". probably because it's so much colder here the swallows don't arrive until summer is well underway. I love this graphic image; the colours and light are fantastic. You cropped/ framed the image perfectly.

Vidim,da si popravljal perspektivo.Je kar dobro izpadlo.Lep grafičen vzorec uokvirjen z ograjo spodaj.Edino kabli zgoraj ne grejo v sliko,ampak teh drotov je tako ali tako,kamorkoli pogledaš.

We have almost the same phrase in Dutch, but we say summer instead of spring. :-)
This is a great shot, very well seen and I really love the repetition effect of the balconies and windows. Also the shapes of the balconies are very nice. I like the blue colour of the wall as well. Good work!

Totalno drugacna prespektiva in nova oblika.
Barva je ta, ki me prevzame. Mogoce poznaš Buldožere, "blu je boja. moooojea..."
Lepo da si se spomnil mene in Maje , itak smo skorj vsi slikali ta hotel.

Your viewpoint was well chosen here, I like how you managed to keep the vertical lines of the building vertical. The tight crop and bold colour have made for a strongly graphic image. Blue, white and black; I like it.
I'd have preferred it if the person on the balcony was more visible, standing up perhaps, but that's a minor detail.

You followed an a bit circuitous road Tomi, to file this one as a nature pic ;-)) But I understand your reasoning and the symbolism is impeccable and creative.

Superb imagery, with tight effective cropping. The light is very fine here, with good symmetry, lines and graphism. I like the way that the shutters on the one window are open, exposing a black void. Very fine work, Tomi. Have a good week.

ottimo e attraente il taglio che hai dato a questa immagine quasi bicolore. Il freddo è ben rappresentato dai colori freddi e dalle persiane chiuse, che evidenziano il periodo di fuori stagione.

Well, for me, graphism at its best. A none symmetrical repetition of forms in as few colors as possible, with one hidden element to break up the monotony. Very well balanced and free of distortion; straight horizontals and verticals. Good eye on this one Tomi.

Hi Tomi - it's framed perfectly, good symmetry throughout the image. The colours are good, even though it's just blue & white (with a little black). The blue does make it seem cold!

Neverjetno... Samo eno okno odprto. Prav lepo, da si slikal, statisticno je skoraj nemogoce da se ti bo se kdaj zgodilo :-)

Vsec mi je, kako si "stisnil" kader tako da ni nic drugega razen stene in oken. Dobra ostrina in nobene deformacije.
