Photographer’s Note
The lady with totally different problems from the boy's of my previous post
If the boy from my previous post did it very well running up the hill, for the lady is a little difficult to go down the stairs. I have noticed that she's a very brave person, she went by herself to the market to buy some food that she'll probably cook by herself and she talked with such a joy and entushiasm to everybody she know from the neighbourhood about the events. I'm just immagining me at her age...
In the workshop you'll see the stairs: from reverse angle ;))
***
For some time I'll post pictures to show you my little piece of Earth - the Slovenian Coast. Maybee some of you will find it attractive enough to come here ;)
***
This is the thirtythird picture of my TRAVELOGUE: around Slovenian Coast... Hope you are enjoying the trip. In the workshop of my previous post you'll find the MAP: of the entire Coast so you'd be able to follow me.
Take care,
enjoy your weekend wherever you are!

Hey Tomi.
Great photographic timing. She looks like she's about to jump! I see by your note, she is just trying to navigate the stairs. It makes for a good contrast; the initial impression of the photo and the explanation that it is something less severe. There is also something else for me; The pigeon facing towards the camera and the lady away. It's an odd element that can be interpreted as an older lady leaving this life escorted by her angel (the statue) and the pigeon (god, or Christ etc) coming back after delivereing her to the gate.
How's that for an interpretation...it did just pop into my mind and the point I'm trying to convey is, your photo tells a story and lends itself to the imagination of the viewer...this makes for an excellent composition and viewing experience. Grain works as well...
Great photo, I will coninue to look at it many times.
Regards,
CHris.

I like the situation you captured. The B&W a little bit overexposed is very good. A lot of humor emanates. Well done,
Christophe

Hi Tommi.
Maybe a little bit noise?
Anyway, the B&W is a good idea for giving it a lovely old atmosphere. I like it.

Hi Tomi,
it looks very different from the ws. I'm quite a bit surprised that it is the same place. I like the shot of the old lady. She seems to insecure walking the stairs.
Nevertheless I prefer the ws, I prefer colours.
Good job, Nino

bella foto Tomi, ci vediamo!!

Hi Tomi, the rendition of this well composed daily life shot in b/w and with noise almost makes the question you pose seem existentialistic. The careful and unsure body language of the old woman in combi with the the abundance of weathered stone makes this one. Very interesting, I like it!
Have a fine weekend,
Bert

Ciao Tomi,
hai fatto bene a mettere nel WS la vista degli scalini, così mi sembrava che volesse tentare un audace salto.
Simpatici, come sempre nel tuo stile, il titolo e la scena, bello il B&W

I see you've been putting your new old camera to good use.
I like the tight framing here, although I would have liked a bit of space to the right of the statue.
It's a small thing but I like how the pigeon balances the image by acting as a counterweight to the statue and woman on the other side of the frame.
Good work.

Hi Tomi - I like that grain you have here from the B&W film you were using. Was it Ilford again? The high ISO films tend to be grainy, but I like that effect.
Interesting image, explained well by both your note & the WS version. The stairs don't look difficult to me but thankfully I don't have any mobility problems!
Good shot - have a good weekend!

You're still having fun I see with your new/old camera. I love the composition as the statue seems to be protecting the old lady as she makes her way down the stairs. Good idea to include the WS as it looks as if she just has one step to go down.
Well done

Bellissima foto in bianco e nero Tomi, con quell'effetto in grado di dar l'impressione che si tratti di un'immagine d'altri tempi. La colomba in basso a sinistra è un tocco magico.
Bravo!

Tommi hi,again an unusual and splendid composition,i cannot justify exactly what impression gives me but looking it as a thumbnail i thought it was a woman in a lunatic house!I hope i'm not insulting that poor old lady, she's a hero indded!
