full immersion sihuettes Photo

Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken the day after the barcolana regatta, when there were many sailing boats arround, discovering the nice early autumn sun and sea of the area...
This was taken with my usual equipment, but directly in the sun of the foggy morning...I've crop away the half boat remainig here, the fog in the back, where would have to be mountains of East Italy, and rised up for a few percent the contrast...

I'm sailing away

I haven seen the expression of the woman sitting on the prow, but here pending forward tells everithing, everybody saw a scene like this in the famous film, Titanic:))

Preciosa fotografía con un juego de luces muy bueno en el agua y con una buena composición con la presencia del barco y tripulantes en la margen derecha de la foto.

Fine silhouetted effect in this one. Good crop of the motif - well done daily life shot from the seaside.
2 tips (all for free):
1. How to put in links in your notes - look under FAQ.
2. Frames - well they should never compete with the photo - for this post I would have recommended a slimmer variant..

Hi Miuky, A nicely silhouetted piece of work that only B/W could master, the people stand out very well against the bright background & the cropping is superb, any closer with the edge of the frame & the boat would be going no where, as it is (perfect), kind regards Wilson.

Hi miuky,

those people look so good silhouetted against the bright sea, and thats why I like this high contrast look so much. I think youve really used empty space in conjunction with good cropping to shape the flow of this shot. The empty space here is not mere negative space, it plays a big role in the shot.

Very high contrast shot with stark impact. I like the letter box format you have chosen too, as this really emphasizes the length of the boat. The silhouettes are superb and the reflection off the water is striking. Well done.

Just browsing through your gallery. I really like this shot for the stark silhouettes that it has. Great idea to convert this shot to B&W. I would like to see the fog in the background though...I'm sure it would have added to the atmosphere. I notice there appears to be another photog on the bow of the boat.

Hello Miuky, is a simply beautiful image, which you have prepared with great pleasure aesthetically, the silhouettes of the crew members of the ship cut away on the luminous reflexes of the water give him an agreeable similarity to the Chinese shades.
