Photographer’s Note

About 12 km notheastern from Postojna is situated Predjamski grad (The Jama (cave) Castle). It is one of the most visited castles in Slovenia. Castle was built-up into the ovehanging rock and vista to that combination of a nature and man work is really great. Walk throug the castle halls is an unique event. Very realistic man size dummies are presenting ancient life of the castle. There is also a museum collection and ancient armoury. Below the castle is "Jama pod Predjamskim gradom" (Cave under the Castle)

excellent shot! it is so impressive how the caste is built into the rock... i also like the contast between the white caste and the grey rock :)

You show us a wonderful and impressive scenery here - a very interesting object! You show it from a good angle and I like that you included the rockface as well. I do not think that I could live there - with theserocks over my head ...;-)

Ena tvojih taboljših zadnje čase.Je predjamski grad že kar nekajkrat bil tu gor,ampak ta mi je barvno in kompozicijsko odlična.Jaz bi morda še malce izostril,ni pa tako nujno.je tudi takšna bolj soft zanimiva.

Good photo of this beautiful castle. I've been there and it really nice. The light seems a bit hard though or is it slightly over exposed?

Zdravo Marjan,
(imam končno malo miru... glih za eno kritiko ;))
... to je bilo torej tisto soboto, ko si bil tle dol v naših krajih... super. Tudi vreme si imel zelo ugodno, tako da je nebo fajn izrazito. Jaz sem bil januarja kar dvakrat v Predjami, enkrat je bilo pretežno oblačno, drugič pa sem šel pogledat, če je kaj snega... ni bilo tako idilično, kot sem mislil, da bo ;))) To so taki kratki izletki, ki lahko gremo cela familija in tačas, ko se ta mala hrani imam čas za par fotk... Ma zdaj si me prav zrajcal in bom tudi jaz dal gor eno v prihodnjih dneh.

By looking at this wonderful photo it's easy to understand why it's so popular. It's the kind of place that one imagines to exist only in fairy tales.
Excelent pov and colors. Sharpness is ok, but it could be better.

This is a wonderful and beautifully composed shot. You've chosen an ideal vantage point to shoot the image, and the exposure and sharpness are exquisite. I am happy to learn about Slovenia from your photos, and this is a remarkable place I will store in my memory.

I see that you are in computer technology. I am a physicist and immensely dependent on this technology, and in a book I wrote on Leonardo, 'Math and the Mona Lisa,' I wrote about the "three intellectual cultures." Almost fifty years ago, the English scientist/writer wrote about "two intelletural cultures -- humanities and the sciences. Now with information science, there are three well-defined cultures, and they draw on each other.

Super fotka. Meni je Predjamski najboljši grad v Sloveniji in tudi v tujini se jih večina skrije!
Slovenci v tem pogledu splohj ne vemo kaj imamo!

A very interesting photo and note, a very impressive castle and excellant photo. Just wish the fence was not there as it is a little distracting. Must one day visit your country as the castles are amazing

What a great place! The ompo of your photo shows well that the castel follows the form of the rock. The low POV enticize how big it is.

Zdravo Marjan! Lepa slika, skoraj razglednica. Ce prav hocemo cepiti las, bi lahko rekel, da je morda malo pretemna (predvsem nebo in drevesa); in napis je slabo namescen. So pa zares malenkosti, dve tocki sta gotovo zasluzeni :-)

Great location. I have never heard of this castle, and I really like this photo. Visiting it would be incredible. You have shot this well to show it coming out of the rock. The tree line looks a bit bare, perhaps its from the season and maybe in summer it is fuller and more green.

video sam i poslednju tvoju sliku, crkveni enterijer, ali me Intro vratio na ovaj snimak iz Postojne, kojeg si realizovao sasvim lepo iz optimalne stajne tačke i pod isto takvim svetlosnim uslovima. Obradovao sam joj se, jer su i moja stopala ostavila negde tragove pred pećinom i u njoj. Priznajem da sam nostalgičan i vrlo sam ti zahvalan za inspiraciju. Puno pozdrava
