f/32 on Kodak BW 400 CN film with Canon
Didn't have much time lately to take pictures, so I use it well... oh, at least I think so ;))) Now you're probably just tired of snow... well... I have some more of this loneliness series ;))
Enjoy the weekend, if you can ;))) I feel sorry for the others that have to work, but that's the way the world goes... also I worked some of last weekends.

Hello Tomi,
avec une ouverture aussi petite, on peut risquer des contre jours et obtenir de jolis effets étoilés.
Bien vu, j'aurais aimé voir aussi cette photo en couleurs.
C'est superbe et très bon techniquement.
Best regards.
Daniel.

Outrageous....remarkable. Well, I'm not quite tired of the snow after seeing this shot. Man, I love that this is a film shot...goes to show us what someone can do with film...great contrast. I agree, you use it well.

I know I go on about this kind of thing a lot, but this is the kind of shot that would be a lot harder, if not impossible to take with digital. You would either have had to mess around with a strong ND grad filter or combine two images in photoshop, one exposed for the fighlights and one for the shadows.
Neither approach is really ideal when you just want to go out and take a few fun shots, and with film you can do that; get the shot with a lot less fuss.
This has worked really well, and although I wouldn't usually recommend using such a small aperture (most lenses are at their best at f8 or f11), I like how it has given that starburst effect to the sun.
Shooting into the light has also brought out the texture in the snow nicely.
My only (small) criticism is that I would have preferred it if you had included the top of the tree.
Good work Tomi, I like it.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Tomi,
My compliments for your great F exposure, this gives a very nice depth, also this picture is very wonderful, I'm no fan of BW, but this is very extraordinarily lovely, this is quality, certainly the composition and presentation.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice sunday,
John.

Hi Tomi - a really good shot! I like the star effect on the sun that the small aperture gives you here, B&W suits this sparse winter scene. The composition is very good too. Enjoy your weekend (I'm not working either!).

Hej Tomi,
Great landscape shot with a good choice of B&W. The sun as a big star is beautiful next to the tree. Also the contrast between the snow and grass is really nice. Good work!

Ciao Tomi,
Gran bel lavoro, complimenti!

Hi Tomi,
There is superb depth in this shot, with an uplifting dazzle in the sky with the sunburst and the bright snow alternating in clumps far into the frame. The tree nicely anchors the frame. This works so well in the B&W format. Superb work, my friend...later.

I've just critiqued a B&W photo and me a colour person!!
As I just said I am starting to appreciate B&W more and more. I like the way you have the starburst effect with the tiny aperture you used. Your POV was just right to compose the tree just far enough away from the sun. Very nice!

Hi Tomi. Great photo. You have captured a huge illumination range in this shot, unfortunately digital sensors wouldn’t handle this scene. Well composed with good balance and fine detail. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.
