Cerknica Lake Photo

Photographer’s Note

Lake Cerknica, the most varying and the biggest (when of full size) lake in Slovenia. It is positioned in Karst region and because of that there are holes on the lake bottom, allowing lake to disappear in hot summer time, when the output water flow is bigger then the input. When is of full lenght it reaches up to 38 km2.

This is the first image of Lake Cerknica series (which I will try to put in a theme when I figure it out how...). As you can see, the bank is partially frozen with typical Karst vegetation struggling to coexist in cold, in this rainy days, rising water.

Zivjo Jeri,

ne razumem zakaj ima ta slika tako malo tock. Ima zanimivo barvno strukturo (CB+oranzna), odlicen kontrast in jasnost ter nesporno kompozicijo po tretjinah. Osebno mi je zelo vsec, ker ima razpolozenje in gledalca - vsaj mene - ne pusti brez vtisa. Ze res, da je kompozicija mirna, brez dogajanja, ampak tudi taksne slike so lahko spica.

Videti pa je, da ljudje vendarle raje vidimo cimvec dinamike (ce bi bila na sliki npr. caplja, bi verjetno s tockami segla blizu stotke).

I'm surprised there are only 4 comments on this shot, I think it deserves much, much more. beautiful abstract landscape, I like a lot the sombre winter colours. excellent photo.

Hello Jeri,

Selectiv focussing was a very good choice to make this photo. I like the different levels in this picture. I looks like a B&W photo with additional brown-orange tones as an eye catcher.

I hope that you are OK. But I am afraid not because you publish no more photo. Then I am a little bit sad, I would like to see you being enthused and creating (I know, it's difficul when we have problems).
This photo in 3 colors is very beautiful. I like exactly these 3 colors, this alternation of shots and net or vague zones which succeed one another by creating a universe very strange as you know how to bring us.

Niti slučajno zato da vrnem uslugo... Pri pregledovanju tvojih fotk se ne morem odločit katera mi je najljubša, točke si itak zaslužijo vse, bom pa začela s tole ker mi je bila takoj ful všeč, zimska spokojnost Cerkniškega jezera (tu sem mogoče malo pristranska, tam okoli sem namreč kot otrok s starimi starši preživela precej časa), hladno kontrastna, zraven pa tople jesenske barve...
Hvala za vse nasvete! Mene so sicer učili da se je treba zahvalit za pohvalo hehe :) TOS sem samo na hitro preletela, bo res treba bolj podrobno. Dober opis pa se tudi meni zdi pomembna stvar... Vsaka fotka, vsak kotiček tega planeta ujet v trenutku ima neko zgodbo, ki jo je treba povedati.

I had the pleasure of wandering through your gallery. Many exquisite images. Decided to comment on this one, since it got less attention than some of your other works. I like how you chose your focus point here, and divided the view into 3 main horizontal layers. Light play and tones are magic. You are an artist.
