Photographer’s Note
Skofja Loka
It wasn't much photographed town on TE before I came, but the small town of Skofja Loka near ljubljana deserves to be photographed, as it is perhaps the second most photogenic town in Slovenia, only bettered by Piran.
This picture is a composite of 6 different photos and is taken by the widest angle possible by the camera, so things are closer than they seem. This is taken on the town square called Cankarjev Square after famous writer Ivan Cankar. Most of the buildings in the town date from the 16th century exept for some, much older than that. Here is an interesting panorama through it as a complementary view to mine.
The church of Šentjakob (Saint Jacob) on the left is late Gothic hall building which was built in 1471 on the basis of smaller church which was about 200 years old. It is divided in three naves by supporting octagonal columns; the naves are equally high and there's a starry arch on the top of them. Ribbed arcs are connected by several joints and there are many relieves of the patrons of the altar and of guilds. In 1532 after the earthquake there was new presbytery made and mighty bell tower constructed. There have to be mentioned some valuables like 1694 renaissance altar of Saint Catherine made of black marble, late 17th century paintings of Christ on Mount of Olives… Whole interior, the altars and chandeliers were changed under the project of architect Jože Plečnik.

Bonjour Aleks,
Amicalement.

Hi Alex,
I'm not specialist in stitching, I find this picture absolutely not bad, contrary very beautiful, you play with sun and shadow this is always very lovely, nice depth and very pleasant for looking.
Thanks a lot,

Hi Aleks,
It is quite original scene. Distortion and double exposure certainly add interest on this one. Also it is a funny combination where the left side is cloudy but on sunshine, right side has blue sky and shadow.
This certainly encourages me to try stitches when I visit those tightly built town centres of central Europe.

Hallo Aleksandar!
A really interesting photo, with a lot of details in the large version - but a little bit dark. This place is very pittoresque and has a special atmosphere. Thank you for showing this!
Greetings!

Tremendous amount of detail with good exposure which shows well on the large version. The stitching has been done well and you really have to look hard to see the joins.
The only problem with the very wide angle lens is the tilt it has introduced into the buildings. This is particularly apparent on the right hand side. A longer focal length could have reduced the effect, but I suspect that might have resulted in not getting the full height in frame.
Interesting picture.

Zdravo Aleks!
Čudovit pogled na mestni trg.Zgradbe v starem slogu so fantastične.Tudi cerkvena arhitektura je dobro vidna.
Osebe desno na stopnicah so prozorne.Ti program za panoramo ni dobro povezal. To se dostikrat zgodi.Drugače pa odlična fotografija.
Kateri program pa uporabljaš za panoramo?

Hi Aleks, a great job in this stitch, I know it's difficult to do and yet you obtained a superb result, the quality is amazing in terms of sharpness and light. It's very harmonious indeed. The shadows coming from the right side to the left side are very important here and I like them very much, communicating between the light side and the shadow side. Mother and son on the lower right, is the double appearance on purpose ?(on the small version is OK and even nice, in the large one I'm not sure) Regards, Daniel

Zdravo Akeks, we had thought of visiting this one but finally did not make it so thanks for providing the view, nice pov with some light peeping from the clouds and good stitching, maybe a final vertical adjustment on the right side ?

Hello Alek,
One of the best panoramic I discovered recently,
The light and the gray tones, plus the contrast of the blue sky make a striking picture.
My compliments - Izzet
