Photographer’s Note

The Julian Alps (Slovene: Julijske Alpe, Italian: Alpi Giulie) are a mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps that stretches from north-eastern Italy to Slovenia, where they rise to 2,864 metres at the Triglav mountain. They are named after Julius Caesar, who founded the municipium of Cividale del Friuli at the foot of the mountains. A large part of the Julian Alps is included in the Triglav National Park.

Behind you see mountain Jalovec, with 2,645 meters of altitude it is the seventh highest peak in Slovenia. It lies in between the Alpine valleys of Tamar, Loška Koritnica and Trenta. Its neighbours are Mangart to the west, Travnik and Mojstrovka to the east, and Ponce to the north.

Živjo Denis,

Izjemno lepa pokrajina, ni kaj za dodat. Tud tehnično je slika brez napak. Čista, ostra in svetla s super barvami. Vsekakor dobra reklama. :)

Živjo Denis,
Našel sem tvojo galerijo, ki jo nesreč, lovi mojo pozornost, je zelo lepo in z nekaj odličnih fotografij. Lahko glasuje o katere koli svoje fotografije, vse vredno je, ampak sem se odločil o tem, ker mislim, da je, krivična vrednoti.
Pokrajina je zelo lepa in z nekaj fantastičnega z veliko barv kontrast. Me veseli, da je oči. Odlično delo.

Hello again. I see that this photo was taken early Oct. I like the autumnal colors of the foreground forest and of course the mountain range in the background. Excellent lighting and colors. Are you from the region of Kranjska Gora? If everything goes according to schedule I'll be there from Sept 30 till Oct 6 this year. I hope to do some mountain walking around there ... including a walk starting from Vitranc to Ciprnik. According to my info it offers a good view of the Julian Alps and the Triglav. And maybe also some path starting from Vrsic Pass. My info are all very sketchy. I don't know much about Slovenia and I don't know how to pronounce names of places. Regards. Latiff from Malaysia.
