Photographer's Note

A foggy day at the Bohinj lake.
The heart of Bohinj is the lake, being the largest permanent natural lake in Slovenia. The best way to get to know it is simply to walk around it.
The walk around the lake can easily be extended with a rewarding detour to the Savica waterfall or the Mostnica river, either of which can also be made into separate outings.
Duration of tour : 3 hours (12 km)

Hello Grzegorz
You've got bucketloads of atmosphere in this photograph. I suspect most people would have stayed in by the fire, and not dreamed that the conditions were appropriate for making pictures. But this works beautifully: the slight under-exposure emphasises the chill, and the near-monochrome adds to the atmosphere. I like the tracks through the frost taking our eyes towards the clump of trees. I hope you got into a pub soon after to warm up!

Hello Grzegorz. Even as a thumbnail, the photo looks fine. The combination of light, shadow and fog is perfect. The fine frost is well integrated into the overall composition. Well seen and presented.

Une magnifique composition. Le regard suit naturellement les deux sillons dans l'image, ce qui apporte de la profondeur à l'ensemble. La brume épaisse apporte une touche dramatique à l'ensemble.

Czesc Grzegorz,
a ta fotografia chociaz z tego samego miesjca co ostatnie reprezentuje zupelnie inny styl. Podoba mi sie ograniczenie kolorow i podkreslenie zieleni "drogi". Drzewa na horyzoncie sa mistycznie otulone mgla, a mdle swiatlo podkresla atmosefer calej kompozycji.
Bardzo ciekawa praca!

Hi Gregg,
Beautiful selective atmosphe colour work and a stunning atmosphere combine to make a really class capture. The tracks lead in really well, and makes me wonder what more I would we if I stepped inside the shot and travelled to this beautiful silhouettes in the distance.
