Photographer's Note
The heart of Bohinj is the lake, being the largest permanent natural lake in Slovenia. The best way to get to know it is simply to walk around it.The starting point is Ribčev Laz, or the church of St John (Sveti Janez) on the eastern edge of the lake. The trail described here leads anticlockwise, although clockwise is of course also fine. The path begins heading north, and then skirts the wide Fužinarski Zaliv bay on the eastern side of the lake. At the end of the bay the trail heads along the north shore of the lake. This side is sunny and generally more appealing and quieter. [www.slovenia.info/?pohodnistvo=317]
The trail first follows a wide cart track, then a forest trail, all the time just a few metres from the shoreline, and leads to the western end of the lake and the Ukanc meadows.
The route runs across the meadows, continuing around the lake to another cart track and a road leading to the Hotel Zlatorog. A road runs from here up to the crossroads under Mt Vogel, and then a footpath just below the road hugs the southern, shaded shore of the lake, leading past the church of the Holy Spirit and back to Ribčev Laz.
The walk around the lake can easily be extended with a rewarding detour to the Savica waterfall or the Mostnica river, either of which can also be made into separate outings.
Duration of tour : 3 hours (12 km)

This is beautiful composition, Grzegorz - the slope of the FG hill connects the small shoreline houses with the majestic snow-covered peak in BG perfectly. It also divides the frame in terms of tone, from a lighter alpine hillside to darker rocky peaks. Sharpness is great front to back - amazing how much detail can be picked out on the mountain. Very nicely captured.

Hello Gregg ,
The hut seems so little in this moutain landscape . I like how you've composed the picture , with the white peaks in the BG in the corner .

I enjoyed this one. Would probably try and include a bit more of the lake, but you probably had a good reason for framing it as you did.

Hello Grzegorz.
A marvellous landscape, so carefully composed. I love the way those houses placed in the bottom left corner really highlight the scale of the mountains, and there's a great diagonal between them and the snow-capped mountain top right. The layers of the land between the small areas of sky and water make this one a delight. Superb sharpness and strong exposure qualities.

Andrew

Hi Gregg
This seems to be a spectacular walk, and this view is very majestic. Including the little building on the lake is a great idea as it brings excellent scale to the mountainous backdrop. Beautiful range of colors too.
All the best

Hi Grzegorz
Another extremely wonderful shot my friend, almost like a compressed perspective seen from this viewpoint. You have good eyes in spotting opportunity to make a potential good picture. Such an enormous mountain scene in tight crop but all look sharp, crispy and superb interplay of colors and the orientation is impressive in excellent clarity and general contrast. A rewarding shot renders a breathtaking view, depth and vastness. The small huts add to trigger our sense as strong anchor and help greatly to indicate the sheer scale proportion. You did a great work here, Splendid shot.
Warm regards

Witaj,
bardzo udany ciasny kadr. Podoba mi sie ujecie gor i ich dominacja w calosci kompozycji. Male domki na brzegu jeziora dodaja nie tylko uroku, ale i atrakcyjnosci calej fotografii. Ladne, cieple kolory i dobry kontrast.
Pozdrawiam
Kmaila
