The Assumption Church

This church nowadays represents the central sacral building in Dobrna and it used to be the centre of numerous pilgrims from alll over. Today´s church in baroque style was build on the ruins of the old one in 1844. The arch is covered by Tomaž Fantoni´s frescos and inside the church there are three marble headstones preserved, among wich those of Matija and Margareta Gačnik. They are the descendents of Dobrna´s nobility and respect.

Interesting note... I visit Dobrna at least twice a year. And every time I am there, I see a wedding ceremony. To be honest, that really started to get on my nerves. Don't get me wrong, I love weddings...but I have started to ask myself...When it will be my turn?

nice POV on the tower going out from the leaves...good contrast.
nice place for weddings...just like the church in the middle of bledske jezero!

The upward view of the church tower is great while it is framed nicely by the greenery. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The deep blue sky provides an excellent backdrop for the scene.

your turn..*g*..with 25 that may become an issue sooner or later. and this would be a really nice place for that special occasion.
anyway, excellent and well-composed shot, the pretty white church hiding behind the fresh green trees and bushes and the
nice purple flowers in the foreground are great. well seen & captured, thor.

Živjo Staša,

Tik tak, tik tak. :D

Enivej, fina fotografija z različnimi layerji, ki ustvarjajo vtis širokega kota, tako da je bila vertikalna prezentacija kar taprava. Tele rože so kar simpatične in pašejo v celotno stvar. Fino zaokroženo z okvirom. Mrbit bi bil lah ta mal manj mm - črtast? :) Ampak to je že dlakocepljenje.

P.S: pa kaj je s teboj in italijanščino, dobr da še not v njej ne pišeš, ker pol bi pa res moral slovar odpirat. :P

Eto na ovu fotku mogu da kažem da sam i emotivno vezan...nekada, kao novinar boravio sam u Dobrni. Sve su mi uspomene iz Slovenije vrlo lepe. Zato se radujem što mogu to da ti kažem. Samo napred,
