Excellent detail of the head and eyes, and interesting to see the dragonfly grasping it's perch, do they position their wings as counter-balance?

Nice and sharp capture of this darter, possibly a yellow-winged darter, sympetrum flaveolum, judging by the black and yellow legs + the orange-yellow colouring on the inner part of the wing.

Cracking good picture this lot of detail in this head shot. Nice one.
I would differ in the Ident of it though, and would plump for a Red-veined Darter (sympetrum fonscolombii) because the lower part of the eye is blue, both have the yellow stripes to the legs and yellow areas to the wing.
