Photographer’s Note
when I was small, this was marburg for me, but I didn't know the city. I just heard my family talking about it - for them it was part of lower-styria, and they called themselves "untersteirer" - styria is a county of austria - but noone thought about crossing the border to slovenia and visiting marburg, even though it's just 45 minutes by car from the place where I life. both my motheres father and my fathers grandfather have spent their youth in marburg, then they have lost everything there because of the war. that's why I've grown up in graz in austria. I've visited marburg for the first time 5 years ago, and I liked the city right away, it's very familiar to me, just looks like graz! And there are great places to have a drink or eat some good meal! So maribor, as I call it since I really know it, is definitly worth a visit!
