[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The feathered Korants from the Ptuj plain and their hornet fellows from Haloze are the most popular shrowetide figure,according to folk tradition,chose away winter and welcome back spring.
The Kurents-formed in groups-are dressed in sheepsskins with cowbells dangling from their belts or chains.
On their heads they weare huge furry caps decorated with feathers,sticks or horns abd colored streamers.
The Kurents move in procession,scaring off evil spirits with their cowbells and wooden clubstooped with headgehog spins.Youns girls present Kurents with handkerchiefs which they then fasten to their belts.

hehe... very unique costumes
nice clarity and sharpness

Too bad they are all facing backwards. Nice note. Good composition. Very sharp shot, and the colors add to a good work.

Hello Vlado,
Very nice picture well exposed for an unsual subject. Nice colours too but i would have crop a bit on the left side.
I think we got the same tradition in centre Switzerland (Appenzell).

Oh wow, very impressive! They must have been sweating in these costumes like hell... Although we only see them from the back I like this motive and think it is very interesting to hear and see about this tradition. The red pants really stand out and also the orange background is very nice.
