Orava Castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

Orava Castle (Oravsky hrad) in the village Oravsky Podzamok. First historical mentions about Orava Castle are dated in 1267. At that time the castle occupied only a small area and consisted of only few buildings built of stones. However, the fortified area was almost as large as the area of the nowadays castle with its vertical arrangement into the Upper, Middle and Lower Castle. Buildings of the Upper Castle, erected on the top of a 112 meters limestone cliff had only their ground floor built of stone, while the upper part was constructed of wooden logs. In the second half of the XIII century, the Middle Castle consisted only of a four-storied tower and the Middle Castle buildings belonged to the outer bailey.

piêkne to miesjce i ¶wietnie to zdjêcie :) - by³em tam kiedys (ze dwa trzy lata temu) i mia³em przygodê z lokalnymi romami - ale to nie wa¿ne tu i teraz - fota ma klimat - super.

Un beau château en bel état que j'ai visité l'an dernier. J'apprécie ce POV qui montre bine son architecture particulière.
Tu as été visiblement gêné par une lumière difficile.

this castle has an air of severe history...
in my feeling, there may be the spirits of deceased people, it is fearful to my eyes.
anyway, this is very dignified figure of old big stone construction. the powerful will of the ruler king is felt in it.
your capturing is quite dignified too.

It's a very good POV with all fine directions to show complexity of the castle, great light on ground and of cause ( mine opinion) there's no people in picture disturbing the Architectonical feeling and middle age mood.
