Another shot of St. Nicolas Church in Trnava. Shot just after the sunrise, when the first rays of a new day touched the church towers. This church never gets full morning light, because there is another building casting shadow on it(the shadow at the bottom half of the pic).

I woke up early that morning and checked the sky to the east, just to see a very narrow gap in clouds above the horizon, so there was a chance of having a strong, but very short period of beautifull morning light before the stormy clouds would cover the sun completely. This shot is about knowing your subject and the way the light falls on it. I was at right place at the right time: strong warm morning light falling on the towers, deep blue sky (already in shadow) creating nice contrast with the orange light...this scene lasted for only 12 minutes, then the sun disapeared into the clouds and the moment was gone.

I know the light looks warm, but trust me: that morning was freezing cold with extremely strong wind, so I had to shield my camera with my body, to keep it steady, even though it was tripod mounted.

Hi Juraj,

absolutely great composition. You have choosen your POV and timing very good, showing lightened church towers. Excellent colours, all in all nice work!

Best wishes and happy holidays,
Jeri

A nice compo, Juraj. And that reddish sunrise colour adds a lot of magical flavour. Unfortunately, the cathedral wall occupies most of the space and its exterior is, for the most part, unappealing. I would have probably added more contrast to the frame, however, that is a matter of taste.

Thanks for sharing and have a great day!

Manu
