Photographer's Note

Orava is a historical region in the Orava River Basin, situated in the Slovak and Polish. One of the most interesting places in the area is Oravsky Hrad - the picturesque castle built on a rock, you should also go to the Orava Lake and sail to the island, remnants of the flooded town of Slanica, for which there is a charming baroque church converted into a museum. Orava is of course mountains - many marked walking and cycling trails, well-prepared slopes and hot springs.

Orava area was inhabited as early as the Bronze period. Orava history is inextricably linked with the history of Polish and Hungarian. Northern Orava once belonged to Polish, then in the fourteenth century as a whole was attached to Hungary. In 1920, Orava was divided between Poland and Slovakia. Orava proceeded by land trade routes, such as Amber and Salt, whose names were closely associated with transporting goods.
