Photographer’s Note
A shot taken on Bratislava's Hlavné námestie. On the right you can see the building of the Greek embassy in the background. In front of it is the Maximilian fountain. It was built in 1572 in the Austrian stone workshop of Andreas Lutringer, with a financial contribution from the Hungarian king Maximilian II. The fountain consists of a massive circular tank, 9 metres in diameter. In the middle of the tank is a 10.5 m high column topped with a statue of a knight in armor, who (some say) represents the knight Roland, a defender of city rights ("Rolands" can be found all over Germany and northeastern Europe as well). Others consider it to be a statue of Maximilian II.

Hallo Philipp,
gefaellt mir gut deine Komposition, die schoene, charakteristische Architektur, der Brunnen ist gut platziert und der dunkle, gewittertraechtige Himmel hebt die sonnnenbeschienen Fassaden noch staerker hervor.

Philipp,
This is a nicely composed shot of this statue. THe colorful buildings provide a nice backdrop for the shot. The off center placement of the statue works well here. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The dark threatening sky provides nice contrast for the brightly lit foreground.
TFS,
Asa
