Photo from garden of our countryside house - northeastern view. Although the colors can indicate it´s early spring, this landscape was captured in the beginning of November 2007. Warm autumn was unusually long that year (which was followed by almost no-snow winter).
The closest farm buildings are in village of Horné Dubové, just 3 km from Naháč.
Further, app. 10 km are cooling towers of Jaslovské Bohunice nuclear plant. The plant has to close down it´s reactors, because Austrian green government set it as a necessary condition of Slovakia´s EU entrance. The fact that the plant is safer than remaining nuclear plants in Germany, not to mention those in USA, did not matter. Now the Austrians annoy Czech republic and Hungary, where the other nuclear power plant are located. Pity of this green movement in Austria is that they are insufficient in electricity generation and they buy it from their neighbors, where it is generated by nuclear power plants.
The visibility was great that day which allowed to see also the Tríbeč mountain (right from the towers; cca 55km) as well as the Zobor mountain (more to the right; cca 45km) which rises above the city of Nitra.
