Photographer’s Note

The cloister of st. Catherine was established in 1618 by order of Franciscans on a place where, according to a legend, st. Catherine was appearing. The cloister was closed by act of Joseph II. in 1786, since when the cloister was turning to ruins.
Nowadays, a group of volunteers reconstructs and conserves the ruins, as well as does some archaeological research each summer holiday.
More info on www.katarinka.sk or sk.wikipedia.org (though it is only in Slovak).
I go there quite often, usually couple of times during a year from our weekend-house in Nahac. It´s about 40 min walking distance - no big tour, but a nice change from everyday sitting in office.
There are a few more photos from this location coming on TE :-)
