On the crossroad to Dolne Dubove (to the front), Dechtice (to the left) and Nahac (to the right). And on the crossroad whether to use nuclear electricity or not.
The "nuclear mushroom" is steam from nuclear power plant in Jaslovske Bohunice, shut down just very recently (31.12.2008) due to request of Austrian gov´t - a necessary condition for Slovakia to become a member of the EU. The steam still fumes, until the reactor becomes cool and the "fuel" will be safely stored.
Since Slovakia is energy deficient without this power plant, the gov´t decided to build a few new blocks in the newer nuclear plant in Mochovce, about 70 km from this one.
I am not sure if this decision is very convenient for Slovakia´s energetic future, as we stay dependent from Russia - a supplier of nuclear fuel.
Personally, I´d prefer use more and smaller power plants using recoverable energy sources...
