Bratislava has many old streets and alleyways that go back centuries. To walk here is to walk through a piece of Central European history. The city is relatively small and there are a lot of tourists. Luckily they have made the entire town center one large pedestrian zone with no cars or even buses. To see an alleyway like this completely empty is a rare sight though, and in fact just after I shot this, I was lucky enough to get this.

Serwus Per !
Excellent perspective for this charming stony street.
Fine natural colours, quality details. Good handling with light and shadow.
Very typical view for this part of Europe. It is also common for Prague and Cracow. I'm quite happy living in the neighbourhood of such places :)
All the best,

Hi Per. I'm on a break from posting but I wanted to drop you a brief note on this one. This looks like it could be taken in my birthtown of Graz - a very beautiful old cobblestone road gently curving uphill in between the nice old buildings. Good contrast and nice treatment of the light including the backlit sign with the old writing.

Félicitations pour cette très belle prise de vue qui contenait beaucoup d'embûches (hautes et basses lumières). Excellente maîtrise photographique.
J'aime beaucoup cette photo Per.
Un grand merci du partage.

Interesting picture with sun reflexion on the pavements but a bit of life would be profitable to animate this photo.

Not bad Per - I like the soft colours at this fine place - the reflections from the pavement and the mix of shadows and light - too bad about the grafitty

i like the shot and the subject a lot. the old stones and walls suggest the stories and everyday life that happened here : i miss this feeling so much with modern town landscapes!

I like the composition showing so many of the cobbled stones. You were lucky not to get any people in the scene. I like the play with shadows and light.

This one is a very good situation, with nobody in, the only situation of this charming place.
Well framed of course, like if we were in...
A pleasure to see.
