This is the tower of the Castle Devin, near Bratislava. Only at home, looking at my pictures, I noticed a guy fishing from the tower. How he got there?? maybe he wants rescue the girl in Maiden Tower?
Wikipedia: Devín Castle (Slovak: hrad Devín or Devínsky hrad, Hungarian: Dévényi vár, German: Burg Theben) is a castle in Devín, which is a borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
Owing to its strategic position, the cliff (altitude of 212 meters) at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers was an ideal place for a fort. Its owner could control the important trade route along the Danube as well as one branch of the Amber Road. That is why the site has been settled since the Neolithic and fortified since the Bronze and Iron Age. Later, both the Celts and the Romans built strong fortresses there. In the Roman ruins, the first Christian church located North of the Danube has been identified.
The castle stands just inside Slovak territory on the frontier between Slovakia (previously part of Czechoslovakia) and Austria. The border runs from west to east along the Morava River and subsequently the Danube. Prior to 1989, the Iron Curtain between the Eastern Bloc and the West ran just in front of the castle. Although the castle was open to the public, the area surrounding it constituted a restricted military zone, and was heavily fortified with watchtowers and barbed wire. After the Velvet Revolution the area was demilitarised.
The most photogenic part of the castle is the tiny watchtower, known as the Maiden Tower. Separated from the main castle, it balances perilously on a lone rock and has spawned countless legends concerning imprisoned lovelorn daughters leaping to their deaths.
Inside, the castle is a sprawling landscape of walls, staircases, open courtyards and gardens in various states of repair.
The solution of this puzzle

I’m always amused when I see people posing for this kind of tricks. (This summer I “stole” a picture of a girl who captured the Golden Gate bridge in her hands). But it is much more fun if you took such a scene by coincidence and you find out that you have the solution on another picture. Good job!

So nice to see this castle from a different angle, as I only saw it from the ferry between Vienna and Bratislava (ten days before you visited the place!). That man must be a bit of a daredevil to climb those steep rocks in order to get to his preferred fishing spot. Excellent composition and the lonely cyclist on the beach is also a nice inclusion.

aAl three photos reveal a fascinating location of teh old castle, malgo.
The puzzle still remain, really not easy to understand where this brave guy found the way to the spot he stood.
Beautiful old ruins, surrounded by big green forest, andthere is a another guy with biles and boith gave good scale to comprehend the size of this place.
Have a nice weekend,

sometimes people built castles in the most inaccessible places and this one would face of the most determined invaders. I have to laugh though art the fisherman as four hundreds of years it repelled enemies but was joust enough to keep this man at bay :)
I really lie your composition On this shot and the swooping curve of the shoreline

There must be some kind of way... looks quite steep though! And you have the perfect POV on the scene, and also first class quality (light, colours and sharp)

clever shot this and I love the solution. An image that stirs the grey matter on a Saturday morning. Well done. This old ruin looks amazing too!
Enjoy your weekend - B.

The fisherman is in fact a fortuitous addition bringing a sense of scale to the composition. Good choice of the vertical format to emphasise the height of the pinnacle and the surmounting tower. A pleasantly illuminated image with appealing natural tones and very good clarity. Thanks also for the very interesting note. I wish you an enjoyable weekend.

This has to be the most unique fishing location I've ever seen. The scenery is beautiful and you're elevated angle of view shows it perfectly. Excellent color and sharpness, great photo!

It's a superb and smart composition but it didn't fool me. I figured out the man's position right away :-). This is a wonderful view and you placed the tower very nicely inside the bay. You know, even I sometimes like to take pictures of lovely sceneries, and this is one such view that I would have liked to capture.

A moze z drugiej strony wiezy jest ukryta mala drabinka?? :-)

Now that is what I call dedication to ones hobby. Quite the dare devil i'd say.
Having said that, this is beautiful spot indeed. The lovely little beach, on which the red cyclist adds a nice touch of color, the gorgeous greenery this amazing tower atop the cliffs all together they form a glorious landscape.
have a great weekend

interesting perspective. It is hard to tell weather the angler is standing behind or on the rock. The cyclist is a long way from home too.
Fine place and photo.

Awesome place! That watchtower is on a special spot where a steep peak is on the place where rivers meet. And your viewpoint is even higher giving an impressive downwards angle. That little beach looks very inviting.
I think this shot looks somewhat oversharpened though.

I hope this fisherman has a very long line and I really don't why he wants to be that high. Nicely captured with good lighting and sharp details. Good use of the person for scale. Well done, tfs.
rychem (32297) 2014-08-17 9:04
To rzeczywiście robi wrażenie, pierwszorzędnie ujęłaś ten widok, dobra centralna kompozycja i ten człowiek będący odniesieniem do wielkości zamku (wziąłem go zresztą za fotografa :))
PS.

This is a nice view of the ruins of the castle. The inclusion of the fisherman adds interest and scale for the shot. The angle of the photo is nice giving us a good overview of the scene. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has excellent sharpness.

Good pov on this imprssive tower, light is well captured, interesting and photogenic location, well presented with people to have a scale for the view.
mcmtanyel (19759) 2014-08-19 23:13
Good question, Malgo, but the answer is quite simple, methinks: he got there the same way the cyclist got there (and I did not peep into your solution or anyone else's comment, honest).
An excellent illusion!
PS. Now that I've looked at it, "Another POV" is breathtaking.
