Before leaving Bratislava I’ve decided to post one more detail photo from this nice town (it must be nice because Bratislava in the town where I first time saw a light of this fantastic world, but not living there anymore).
When I was taking this photo, a lot of patience was required; my intention was to capture the architectural details without traffic disturbance. I believe I’ve managed it.
What you see in this photo?
In the foreground the Bratislava’s County House and the old Trinity Church.
In 1844 this 17th-century building, formerly a Trinitarian monastery, was rebuilt and became County House. Its redesign was overseen by prominent Bratislava architect Ignaz Feigler. County House was used to hold sessions of parliament before the Slovak Parliament building next to Bratislava Castle was completed.
Trinity Church is Baroque-style church located in Bratislava’s Old Town. The church was built on the site of the older Church of St. Michael, which was demolished in 1529, along with the settlement of St. Michael, during the Ottomans wars against Turks. The Trinitarian Order started construction of the church in 1717 and it was sanctified after 10 construction years in 1727.
In the background you can see the famous Michael's Tower. The tower was built above the Michael’s Gate the only town gate that has been preserved of the medieval fortifications and ranks among the oldest town buildings. The gate was built about the year 1300, the tower was razed in 1529-34 and its present shape is the result of baroque reconstructions in 1758, when the statue of St. Michael and the Dragon was placed on its top.
During the coronation of 19 Hungarian kings (1563–1830) in Bratislava, the ruler would enter with his coronation entourage by the way of the (no more existing) Vydrica Gate, get crowned at famous St. Martin’s Cathedral and one of the stops following the coronation during the procession through the town was the stop at St. Michael's Gate, where the new king would pledge his king's oath to the hands of the archbishop.
The tower houses the Exhibition of Weapons of Bratislava City Museum.
Do not forget to visit it when are you in Bratislava.

Wow! what a dazzling display of colours all over the frame. It is in stark contrast to what I have shared today. Good use of the vertical format to show from the road to the top of the church steeple. The group of pedestrians provides a good sense of scale and adds life to the photo. Nicely done, thanks for sharing.

Ciao e buona giornata

Sensational this vertical composition, showing us a lot of sights, wonderful contrast between two very different towers, facades we see in front of them, they also give a great charm to the composition.
Wonderful blue sky, good contrast to the pretty colors in warm tones of buildings.
An image with lighting and sharpness are very well managed.
Well done. I love this image.
Have a good day.
Best wishes, my friend.

This is a great view that makes me want to visit Bratislava, which probably is one of the least known European capitals. The buildings (except the one to the left) are beautiful and the church has some exceptional colours. This is a very nicely balanced composition.

trovo i colori molto saturi, ma il contesto è molto bello, come le architetture molto diverse che si uniscono così piacevolmente in questa composizione.

The street is leading my eye toward thwe buildings giving a sense of depth. The point of view is showing with precision the details and the colours of the buildings. The quality of the light is bringing out the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.

Yes, you succeeded in avoiding the traffic on the picture.
The nice weather allowed an incredible colourful view of Bratislava with the tower and the facade of the church in red and yellow standing out the most.
Behind the houses we see a beautiful spire rising up with a nice statue on top.
Very attractive architecture shot.
Best regards, Paul

So captivating shot, neat cheery buildings in bold vivid colors & detail and brilliant side light that certainly brightens up the place. You have captured this with good placement, I think whatever the combination it makes for grand shot and can be hard on the eyes. Simply cant resist the pulling power here. Great capture, TFS

kato (11630) 2014-02-13 6:29
You're capturing well these architectures by a good composition and very excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the Bratislava’s County House and the old Trinity Church with color ful facade and tasteful design, and Michael's Tower with an interesting shape in medieval times. And, the curvrd road draws out an additional good effect in this image.
ourania (32763) 2014-02-13 10:00
the view is impressive, the architecture is austere and full of character, your composition is well balanced and interesting and gives emphasis on depth. The road lines in the foreground and the sunshine in the background are inviting. Light, colours and shadow look rich and dense, maybe a little exaggerated, but consistent and appealing nontheless. The human presence is discreet and agreeable. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
jcpix (13704) 2014-02-13 19:17
Well, what can I say...your patience pays off, this is a real beauty! It really is a virtue, isn't it? :) Although the road is free from traffic, I do like the fact there are some people in the background, adding that little touch of human element and infusing some life into the otherwise empty streets. Plus, with this super composition, they give a strong sense of scale.
Full of color, shapes, captivating architecture, detail and solid light...you've put together one impressive compilation of element and form! Great job keeping that white facade from being blown out, the highlights have remained in tact. Congrats on a superb result! Enjoy the day ahead my friend. Take care.
Cheers from Phoenix,

Salut cher Miro
Oooh this looks wonderful in the large 1200 format. The colours are stunning and look almost three dimensional I like your vertical frame (obviously your favourite choice) which adds to the depth and of course the chromatic rendering is immaculate. Well done!
