Photographers Note
Historically, the oldest and the most significant part of the Poprad Township is Spiská Sobota, which has preserved its historical character till nowadays. The square in Spiská Sobota is, even at present, decorated with the houses built in the Renesaince period, which has attracted a number of film directors to shoot historical scenes for their movies. It is situated in the northeastern part of the town, above the Poprad River. The Church of St. Juraj (George) belongs among the significant sights; its Late Gothic wing altars as well as the main altar from the workshop of Master Pavol from Levoča are worthy of admiration. The entire urban part has been proclaimed the urban sight preservation.
