Present day Levoča is an urban cultural historical reservation. It was founded in the middle of 13th century, after the Tatars raided the local lands. Successively it became the most important town in the Spiš region. Since 1271 it had been a seat of local self-government of 24 Spiš towns. The town is rich with historical gothic and renaissance buildings. Levoča was a cultural center of the Reformation processes in Slovakia. A printing plant had operated in Levoča since 1624. During anti-Habsburg uprisings in the 17th century, the town was on the decline.
In 1840´s Levoča was a center of the Slovak National Movement, protesting against the process of Hungarian assimilation of the Slovak nation. The current Slovak national anthem was officially heard here for the first time.
Levoca, with a number of its historical monuments, is one of the most important towns in Slovakia historically. In the historical center, you will find more than 50 gothic, renaissance and early-baroque houses of nobles with arcade interior courtyards. The original town walls from the 14th and 15th century still remained preserved around the town center and they are about 2 km long. Several towers, bastions, and Košická and Menhardtovská town gates have been reconstructed

Widzę chłopie, że teraz po Słowacji śmigasz. A byłem w tym mieście. Tylko już bardzo dawno temu. Ciekawa długa perspektywa i interesująca gra światła i cieni.

W kieżmarku byłem a na Lewocze zabrakło czasu. Może następnym razem. Ladny kadr i kompozycja. Światło i cień zostaly ujarzmione tutaj doskonale. Ciekawa uliczka.

A ja znam tę ulicę i fotografowałem ją kiedyś, ale nie tak. Proste zdjęcie. Fajna perspektywa i dobrze widoczna zacieniona ściana. Fajne.

Też się błąkałam w tym miejscu z aparatem :). Fajnie pokazałeś tę uliczkę. Zabawne kolorystyczne kontrasty, dobre światłocienie, no i niebo dopisało.
