Photographer’s Note

Aren't those little houses nice? :)
We use to say that good people can fit to any little place and have still good mood.
These are kind of traditional old houses which were built in slovak villages in past,"baked loam" was used for their construction.
Walls covered inside with a layer of loam work well to control air humidity, that's why the loam houses served especially as a hay-loft.
Now they serve mainly as a good photo-point :)

A beautifully proportioned image Vero - the colours are lovely and the shadow detail very well realised - interesting to see this way of living - perhaps more to do with rural disadvantage than idyll but good to capture this scene before it might disappear forever - I really feel as if I can inhabit this scene and bring the other senses to bear.

Zdravo Veronica. Long time no see, as they say. I love this piece. It reminds me of the work of the naive Croat painters, people like Generalic.Wonderful rural charm, light and shapes, particularly the roofs and the intricate branches.Pozdrav. Klaudio.

Nice and pittoresque. I guess the light on houses is maybe too intensive. But I like this kind of scenes. So big smiley for you.

Hello Veronika.
A lovely rustic scene, well photographed. It looks like there is nothing in this shot from the last 150 years. I like the rich colours and slightly under-exposed look, and you have taken the shot at a good angle. I also like the way the bare trees break up the horizon.

what a excellent light you got here, well balanced and very clear.
I´m thinking about the romanticism which makes us believe that it is nice to live there. For me a well known, but strange feeling :)

its nice to hear from you,i'm quite busy these days about graduation and job applications but i hope i ll be back here soon.
and this photo,i liked it a lot,the small houses and the colors.
but at first sight,the first house seemed a one-eyed screaming face to me,i guess its about my mood :)
hope you are doing well too,oh by the way Mateja and Zafer maybe you remember from GC,they've just got married :)
i couldnt catch the bouquet :P
