Photographer’s Note
I was walking up Velký Rozsutec a cold and windy autumn day when I found this jewel hiding between the cliffs. It was so damp you could almost touch the water in the air.
I agree, that the result is better with a crop. Have done a 20X25 crop bottom right, covering all the droplets and the lower lump of the rock.
I want to keep the sharp rock and and part of the light. This makes the pic more mysterious and dangerous. It also shows the harsh conditions in the area.
Have second thoughts now, If I crop it alot of the mystery disappears. hmmm

Very well observed. The background has been thrown nicely out of focus, but I don't think the background adds anything to the image. The large light area in the top right actually draws attention away from the main subject. Cropping tight above the top water droplet leaves a small light area which then actually draws the eye to the 'jewels'.

it's so simple and jet so beautiful. I loke the DOF. I afree it really looks like a jewel ;) Pesonally I would crop a little bit on top the pict would have better proportions then. But it's just me - I'm fixated on cropping
thanks for sharing

Hi Mattias,
Very nice effect, i'm not that fond of the overall result, i think you can do better with the framing. To many empty space... a slacky placement of the element in the space.
But an overall nice photo.

Unfortunately the sky in the background is hidden behind the fog but the fog on the other hand is the reason for these beautiful droplets. I like the shot. Good detail and the best background you could get under these conditions... Can't imagine what could be better here but these walls of rocks!
You cannot change the bad lighting here...

I like the shot. Good sharp detail in the front.I think you must crop a little bit above the leaves.

applauds to ur ability to make a gr8 photo of things hidden in nature...
The background should have been fogged a bit more to ensure that the viewers attention is captured only by foreground and not by the background... This would increase the beauty of the drops....

Oooh, very nice! I actually like the rocks in the background; I agree that they add to the mystery, and without that it would be a more conventional water droplet shot. The sky is very white, yes, but that is because of the fog, which adds to the atmosphere.
By the way, you chose a very appropriate title!

really eye catching .. mythic image ... I love the rocks in the background I think they make the shot .. if I were going to think about altering this at all .. (and I don't know if this has any merit or not) I might think of darkening the background a nudge and reducing the background's saturation a bit more .. don't know ..I am the great king of photos that are too dark .
Love this image.
