...ruins of the Bzovik castle belong among our oldest monuments...interesting (and documented) thing is, that this castle has not been destroyed by the German army, as we were taught by the Communist regime for forty years, but it was actually devastated and taken apart by the regime itself, because it was not „suitable“ for the regime...this fact is known only for a relatively short time...

Bzovik castle is located in Banska Bystrica region, in the Krupina district.

The village is first mentioned in 1135 under the name Bozouk and the castle was originally a Benedictine monastery built in the 13th century. It was heavily damaged during a 15th century attack by the Hussites. A century later, it was fortified again with the aim of fending off the Turks. These ruins represent one of the country’s best-preserved fortification systems...you can come there and go completely freely, ruins are deserted.

Hello Ivana,

Well composed and good color tone/sharpness!
When I saw this picture, I felt a peaceful and natural atmosphere.
I like the contrast between grass with white-lovery flowers, castle and the sky with white clouds. And it draws out good effect in the whole arranging the tree to the right of the center and giving a large area to grass of the front.

I like a lot this composition : all the elements are interesting , and very well placed . The flowery meadow in the foreground , the little tree , the beautiful castle , and the superb sky . A picture with soft and natural tonalities , very pleasant indeed .

Ahoj Ivana, z tvojho komentaru som uplne konsternovany, vobec som totiz o tomto hrade doteraz nepocul. Musim sa pozriet do knihy Hrady, zamky a kastiele na Slovensku (alebo tak nejak), kde su uvedene vsetky vyznamnejsie stavby tohto typu. Tu knihu som vyhrabal prednedavnom zahrabanu v kniznici rodicov, celu som ju prelistoval a nepamatam, ze by som tam Bzovik videl. Ta kniha vysla v 83-tom...teraz neviem, ci je chyba v mojej pamati, alebo v "pamati naroda" ;-).

Inac pekna a velmi prijemna fotecka, s typickym rukopisom "Elaine Blath". Diky za zdielanie, tak sa zda, ze vdaka Tebe si niekedy cez leto budem musiet urobit vylet do okresu Krupina (btw. to, ze taky okres na Slovensku existuje som sa dozvedel len pred dvoma rokmi, ked som tam mal pracovnu cestu...no offense Krupincania :-)).

bzovík :-) bola si blízko , mala si dať vedieť , by som ti poukazoval nejaké miesta, ja som z Modrého Kamena, ahoj
