...another glimpse, for all those who wanted to see the dancers´ expressions ;-)...enjoy!

...Saturday afternoon in the heart of Banska Bystrica, full of folklore music and typical costumes...

Banska Bystrica is located in central Slovakia and is the most important historical, cultural and economic centre of it. The first written reference about the city is from the year 1255. Today Banska Bystrica has 83 056 inhabitants.

Here you can see the SNP square (Square of Slovak National Uprising), around which are concentrated most historical monuments. It is a very picturesque place, which is in summertime covered by flowers and street cafes.

In the background you can see a clock tower dated from the year 1552. During the last reconstruction it deviated from the vertical axis by 60 cm. The tower was used as a watch tower in the past and the bugler's concerts were heard from it in the 18th and 19th century.

This shot just makes me want to get up and join these dancers! This is a charming scene, full of fun and bright colours. The accordion player are well positioned and the background setting is perfect.

ahoj ivana,
i love the national costumes of slovakia and czech republic, very colorful and unique. this poses a good example for national cotumes. and thanks for the living photo. opatruj se.

hi dear Helen,
as for your latest post i think that the dof is not really good,the women and the church are "mixed",the shot is very sharpened so a bit noisy,strongly contrasted.well,for me,a bit post card.sorry to be honest.a little cropp on the people would help?best regards.

L'église en arière plan est peut-être un peu trop présente mais on admire les danseurs aux costumes somptueux et colorés et la luminosité de l'ensemble.

je suis agréablement surpris par la qualité des lumières, des couleurs et aussi de la mise au point.
Une belle scène folklorique qui nous relie aux traditions malheureusement disparaissant très viet avec le mélange des cultures et le modernisme galopant.

A beautiful picture. While the costumes are very colourful, the moment you froze with your camera is very attractive. Love the backdrop of the clock tower. The square format suits this lovely picture very well
