Lastly I have presented the most beautiful church of this this city...now I want to show the main place of Banska Bystrica, it´s name is The Square of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP square) and it belongs to the most beautiful squares in Central Europe
In front of the image you can see the Clock tower, on the right The Cathedral and on the left towers of the City Castle and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The Obelisk belongs to the Slovak and Soviet soldiers that have liberated this city which was under nazi german occupation.
But the historical sights are not the only attraction of this city, mainly because it is situated on the foothills of the Low Tatras mountains, creating the National Park Low Tatras visited by many tourists.
