Photographer’s Note
These children were hanging around a military patrol point. The lueitenant in charge was so moved by them that he took them to the local store and bought them some new clothes. These kids were Serbian who are 10 percent of the population in Kosovo/ Kosova; and when they were in the store, an elderly lady shopping, who was Albanian, told the lueitenant's interpreter that he shouldn't waste his money on these Serb kids. The LT. turned around and offered to purchase the things the lady was holding for her; she agreed; and everyone was happy.

Hello, Michael--
Nice work here, and a good note. The composition here is very strong, and the unselfconscious stare of the boys speaks of their dignity and pride.
Thanks!

Yes, the proverbial Serbian pride!
Great shot, I really love how this boy stands out, you made me think about a theme with life in Kosovo, if nobody else made it yet. This one and also story is very representative!
Thanks a lot for sharing and may God help you in your work with these photos!
Mihaela
PS I hope you agree to add your photos too.
