Dusk over the bridge!

St. Irenaeus bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the Sava river between the two Mitrovica: Sremska and Mačvanska.

With an overall length of 262.5 meters it is the longest cable-stayed footbridge in Serbia and on the Balkan.

The bridge is located right on the former site of the old Roman bridge of Artemis, then one of the largest buildings of ancient Sirmium.
On the bridge were executed "Sirmium holy martyrs", during the persecution of Christians. According to one of them, Sv. Irenaeus, bridge is named.
