Illusions, a photo from Serbia, North

Photographer's Note

One month ago I visited Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, for the first time and found the central parts of the city a lot more attractive than I had expected.
However, the city was not quite as beautiful as this picture indicates. This is from Skadarska Street, locally known for its "bohemian" atmosphere, for many years a meeting-place of writers, artists and other creative people. Today it has become a bit of a tourist trap, but I found this block quite interesting. The walls are covered with "trompe l'oeil" paintings giving an illusion of palaces and gardens.

A really interesting and beautiful effect - and I presume that it is advantageaous for this city. A real work of art. However, I think the crack in the wall is real ... ;-) A skillfully composed photo!

Wonderful shot. Also very good work of the artist, as we need to look very closely to see this is not real. Of course the inclusion of the people is necessary and they are perfectly placed in the frame.

this is a bit fantastic moment- a combination of "real" life and "painted" life! I have very strange feeling when I look at this scene... but whatever it is, the photo was taken very effectively and is very well composed - what a moment, indeed!

your picture de Scadarlia est superb. You got the original subject. I had mine (look at "Le Silence de la Mer" i nmy gallery).

So, we missed the occasion to drink a coffe together. It is nice idea to visit Belgrade. At other time will you tell me in advance. For friendly meeting.

Hello Gert, Quite Extrordinary, looking at this I would not have believed it but if you say it is a painting then a painting it is. The inclusion of the people, looks like three generations, walking, foot off the ground & bright red colours makes it for me. Well put together. A lovely image.
