Rtanj is a mountain situated in eastern Serbia, approximately 200 km southeast of Belgrade, between towns of Boljevac on north and Soko Banja on south. Its highest peak is Šiljak (1,565 m). The north side of the mountain is covered with forests and shrubs, full of autochthonous plant species and plenty of sources of potable water. Famous is Rtanj tea found on this mountain which is herbal tea from winter savory. One old man I met on the mountain told me he has 300kg of tea in his home, whereas I bought one small bag in Soko Banja and enjoyed so much in its exquisite taste, especially when it is sweetened with acacia honey. Some people belive that the pyramidal shape of the mountain is due to it containing an alien pyramid emitting mystical energies... Many people have flocked here prior to the predicted Mayan Doomsday in 2012, believing it will protect them... Soko Banja settlement can be seen in the the foreground of the photo. This area comprise mostly new houses built in recent years due to expansion of tourism in this area.

Good morning Petar,
Marvelous rural landscape scenery, with red roof-tops of the small town contrast well in view over the green hiils.
Favorable light condition and good DOF collected.
Nice to see a relatively not known area on TE, that's trully the mission of this site.
Enjoy a nice weekend,

Zdravo Petre. Narod je pripreman virovati svasta, kao u Bosni gdje kazu da su otkrili neke stare piramide. Bilo kako bilo, scena je vrlo lipa sa divnim bojama i svitlom.Bas upadna panorama. Pozdrav. Klaudijo.
