60km away from Sofia (the Bulgarian capital) we cross the border with Serbia. Another 20km along the Belgrade main road, then a turn of 9km to the left, and we reach the St.Jordan Monastery, which was founded in the 14th century. The monastery is situated among the rocky slopes of the Erma river gorge. Of course, as it happens with such places, many reconstructions and renovations have been fulfilled since then, but the church in the middle of the courtyard has remained more or less intact.

Lovely architectures of the eastern monastery behind the trees & wall. Sharp & nice clear weather. Good mood & colors of December. Regards. Latiff.

Good morning Anton!
What a sight, what a place! This church really seems to be a gem and its situation under the rock faces is so impressive. This view through the trees somehow is intriguing...
Greetings from 3rd Advent Sunday in at last cold Germany!

The naked branches filter my view to the monastery, it is like I'm spying on them..!
Typical late autumn colours and I guess the place got some snow by now, like most of Europe...
A balanced composition with sharp details!

You captured wonderful scene my dear friend. I liked your creative way adding traditional architecture behind trees. The contrasts between brownish-green surround and terracotta are just wonderful as same your well taken photo. Congratulations.
I wish merry Christmas to you and your family, may you have the best of Christmas this year and all your dreams come true.
