Monastery Kastaljan is located on the northeastern slope of the mount Kosmaj, near village Nemenikuće, dedicated to St. George. It was probably built in the 13th century on the foundations of a Roman fort - II or III century, in the reign of King Dragutin and belongs to the Raska architectural school. It was rebuilt by Despot Stefan Lazarevic in XV century by adding a dome. The church is measuring 12.5 by 6 m and is the oldest part of the monastery complex, with dining room and living quarters from 15th century. In the dining room was found a tombstone from 1332, but it was taken away. The whole monastery was destroyed in the late 17th century.

A very interesting image! I like the cross in the middle and the fact that almost the half image is underexposed. Maybe a little bit of Tonal Contrast would made it extraordinary! Try it!

Hello Alexander - Despite the cross being surrounded by ruins there is still a strong spiritual atmosphere here. The dappled light and quiet colours have been conveyed very well here. An attractive image. Warm regards Rosemary
