Photographer’s Note
This is a beautiful view of the Bucegi plateau. The photo was taken from Bran, where lately many gorgeous vacation cottages have been built. Bran has always held a special place among the rural destinations in Romania, partly because of the right marketing of the legendary Bran castle, which many people (foreigners especially) regard as Dracula's castle. Not quite so, it's more of a legend... Nevertheless, Bran takes full advantage of the nature surrounding it, the mountain ranges Bucegi (to the east, as seen in the photo) and Piatra Craiului (to the west), and the hospitalitarian people that live here make it a perfect get away from the noisy city. Almost no street lights at night, no busy traffic except for a few cars, but at the same time you can choose between 5* accomodation services or traditional rural ones. Nature at its best, still preserved...
Take a look at my other shot of the Bucegi plateau, from a completely different vantage point: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Romania/photo96856.htm
Edited in Photoshop (brightness, contrast, sharpness, cropped, added a frame, resized).
