Photographer’s Note

They were begging in the Train Station in Cluj. The one in the background was Adina, she is 9 y o. The one closed-up is her brother Andrei 1,2 y o. Not from Cluj, but Turda(a close-to-Cluj small town). They also came here because the people are more generous. Had nothing more to give them as i had spent all, and i mean all of my money on the train ticket. But i did give them a walnut an old lady had awarded me earlier with, for taking her photo. What i liked here was that people in my vecinity saw that i had no money to give them, so the all chiped in. Good people, nothern people.

Adina looks indian, she looks like the children in Sohrab's pictures.

They were both wery cheerful, despite their hunger and poverty. I have sharpened a little more, an added some contrast, so it would look like made on a slide. Hope i got the effect.

this is a nice photograph. youve managed the depth of field very well here, it brings out the emotions of this photograph really well

Fantastic DOF and framing! There's only a blue cast over the left child that I think could be balanced, but except for that it's a very nice image.

I think you have a joy of showing us only the gipsy presence in Romania. If I were you I would ask for a special site dedicated to their strange world. There are so many nice, beautiful, wonderful things in Romania. Yes, gipsies are a presence but they are not everything in Romania. If I see a picture made by you I recognise it immediatly. Are you so fascinated by this subject?
