Who is she, where is she going, what is she thinking?
Light my friend, light on her face and on her jacket, that does it all here and brings out full attention on the woman walking by. Great capture here, taken in the right mood with the right tones...very good, i like it a lot.

I don't know if it is powerful or beautiful, but it is an interesting shot, with a good atmosphere.
I would like crop it in a different way (more crop on the right), but is good enough also in your way.

Portraits is my humble opinion one of the most dificult photographic topics, and I think that this is one of the best portraits I have seen in TE. I hope it tells something... Congratulations!

A little wry smile possibly, behind those big sunglasses. Beautifully subtle lighting - nicely handled. Just enough contrast, excellent range of tones.

Ah, I am not disappointed! She looks all you say, of course we will never know if there's a diffeent truth:-). I love the smart white rain coat against the old walls, and most, the light all over her, the hair, the skin, the glasses, and that mischevious smile, some complicity. I may have cropped some on the right. But as it it's a great pic, and perfect choice of b/w and "click" moment. Well done Horatiu!

Kidding aside, I really like the way you chose this photo to illustrate your note. Not only her cute expression, but it's also the details that contribute so much - the trench coat, the sunglasses, the keys in her hand.

A dire vrai ce n'est pas du tout mon style.... Mais la photo est marrante avec sa mine penchée... Vous êtes vous parlés après cette photo ? Peut-être t'a t'elle giflé ? A moins que vous ne vous soyez découvert en commun un amour furieux de la photographie, et que depuis cette heure vous vivez dans la chambre d'un hôtel... Une chambre obscure d'un hôtel de Sibiu... A vous prendre en photo nus comme des vers... TE mène à tout...

For sure, not an Anita Ekberg bathing in the Trevi Fountain, but a real femme fatale in the streets of Sibiu.
I can feel her 21st century self-confident gaze passing through the sunglasses and targeting the shooter.
The light is not screaming here, but it is murmuring a delightful tune.
Without the grains, one of your best recently.

you know, inspite of her giant glasses I can just feel her look and hear her thoughts about you taking her photo. :) A woman with attitude. Like you perfectly described her in your note. Excellent BW treatment with stressed motive and slight blury background. Great stuff again!
