Photographer’s Note
In the Suceava region, there are many monasteries known for their painted walls. As a matter a fact, their interior stone walls are covered with religious paintings, many centuries old.
Outside the monastery, that old man just went by, guiding his flock of sheeps.
You want something funny ? The man reminded me of the flutist I captured years ago in Montreal.

Hello Simon
This is a nice example of classic job and profession.
The composition looks good, but if I had the option I would have tried with a little more "air" around his head. Possibly even show a little more of the sheep.
More I must hand one thing to you. Light looks excellent. Soft finish that really brings out the true colours. DOV is great as well.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Simon,
The resemblance is just totally amazing!!! They could be brothers if it isn't actually the same person. Wow.
Nice picture. Back home in the Netherlands they are using more and more sheep to cut the grass in the provinces. It's cheap/sheep, no noise, no smell, doesn't need gasoline. Wonderful lawnmowers I'd say! Like the goat looking a bit lost in between the sheep - though there is a second goat wiggling his tail in front of him :-). Nice picture!!
Greetings, Dennis
PS: Maybe a different DoF, higher F-stop to have the goat and sheep sharp as well.

Hi, Simon!
Nice and crisp portrait of this old man herding his sheep flock. Very good DOF and composition focusing the attention of the viewer onto him. Nice colors too. The cropping, maybe, is not the best. Too tight on top. It also sort of bothers me that I can't see the head of any of the sheep. Not even the ones on the right side. The photo looks somewhat artificially cropped there. But the DOF takes care of that to a certain degree focusing the attention on the man, on the left side of the photo. I like the strange mixture of traditional and modern: the thousands of years old custom you present and the few year old costume he wears. Well... "costume" so to speak, I mean the modern polymer-made jacket and hat.
If you have an actual portrait of this man's face, I'm sure it could stand up against the most popular portraits here on TE. Please, do post it, if you have one.

PS Indeed, funny, the resemblance of the this man with the Montreal flute player. I also found the note somewhat funny. You start talking about monasteries and then abruptly switch to mentioning the old man in the photo.

Superbe.
