Photographer’s Note

In December 1989 many young people died fighting against communists.
Due to their sacrifice today we live in freedom
Due to their sacrifice today we are free to believe in God and to speak about our faith
Due to their sacrifice we have today a better live

In their memory, in 1994 Romanian Orthodox Students Association put 5 stone crosses in the center of Bucharest, University Square, today Revolution's Square where most of the heroes died. And since 1996 on 21st of December is held a procession with torches and Christmas carols ended in this square with parastas for heroes of the Revolution

May God rest their soul in peace!
Some of them are still alive:
Thank you, your sacrifice was not in vain!

A message for today, the day when the first Romanian non-communist president was dismissed:

We don't want communism again!

Excelenta postare ..........
Regret sincer cele intamplate , si sunt amarat pana la maduva oaselor.
Se pare ca noi toti valoram mai putin decat cei 200 de tradatori din Parlament.
O poza simbolica , dar din pacate mie nu mai imi inspira incredere de nici o culoare .
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT COMMUNISM AGAIN !
Numa de bine ..desi pare utopic in Romania.

i don't know why after all those sacrifices, after everything each and every one of us has been through, when we slowly but finally seemed to get ahead somehow - things like these happen ... i wish i understood - or even better i wish they wouldn't happen.

sper si eu sa nu intoarcem la comunism..poate doar daca ar veni nemtii peste noi:D asa nu m-as supara sa ne organizeze putin..k sincer nu stiu ce s-ar mai putea inatmpla acum sa iasa ceva bun...:(

bine conceput momentul,e imposibil ca atmosfera asta sumbra sa nu aduca aminte de zilele acelea tragice,
desi nu stiu cat mai conteaza acum pentru tara.
poate ca nu au murit degeaba daca noi ni-i mai amintim,fie si doar printr-o poza.

Ai dreptate in nota ce ai atasat-o imaginii. AM TRAIT PE VIU MANIFESTATIA SPONTANA DIN PIATA UNIVERSITATII !
Trebuie sa deschidem ochii, sa nu lasam comunismul sub orice form,a sa mai se intoarca.

Buna Mihaela,

Este bine sa avem mereu in minte jertfa tinerilor din 21 dec 1989 Bucuresti. Lor le datoram in cea mai mare parte libertatea de care ne bucuram acum. Am prins si eu putin din perioada comunista si stiu cat de rau a fost.

Dar sa ma ierti, nu vad in persoana lui Basescu un continuator al luptei incepute in decembrie '89.
In perioada lui Ceausescu n-a fost dizident, iar in '90 cand a fost miscarea de protest a studentilor din Piata Universitatii nu a fost deloc vazut pe acolo. Mai mult decat atat, el s-a lansat pe scena politicii fiind un aliat al lui Petre Roman (fost prim-ministru FSN) pe care ulterior l-a dat deoparte. Insusi partidul PD care il sustine pe Base este ceva desprins din fostul FSN.

Este suparator sa vezi ca in lumea politicii romanesti se fac tot felul de jocuri de culise dar nu trebuie sa vedem acum in Basescu un erou.
