Very nice, attractive and interesting picture!
Sharpness, exposure, high pov over the rooftops, colors, squarish format, pp, contrasts and composition are all excellent here!
So many details to be seen and enjoyed!
TFS - congratulations!

Good idea of photo, I like the rendering with all the geometric shapes, the textures and the colors. Good close framing showing only the roofs.
ktanska (28034) 2010-08-12 6:03
Highly graphical tele shot of these roofs on a tightly built old town. There's so many triangular shapes, and especially the green one on the lower left is perfectly placed.

A very good view of Brasov's specific houses. One of the most enjoyable places from Romania. Well seen.
macondo (19624) 2010-08-12 6:34
A good composition of old roofs, with wonderful lines and angles, and a good contrasting colour of green-blue at the front. I can't see one TV antenna or satellite dish, so it's the same view you could have had a long time ago. I love the line of chimneys. Excellent picture from a tiny camera.

pauloog (11751) 2010-08-12 11:26
A fine patchwork of lines and colours and a beautiful view on the weathered roofs and chimneys.
saxo042 (37900) 2010-08-12 12:01
A very pleasant composition with all diagonal lines and attractive angles. The colours seem to be just blue-green versus the red tiled roofs, a very harmonic combination. A paradise for chimney sweepers!

Good evening Gert
these texture of roofs is very beautiful and interesting, the diffuse light has allowed to see every detail, because there are any shadows. I can see nearly no-one signs of modernity and this is indeed amazing. compliments

I wonder what it would feel like to walk on these roofs from house to house... just like Karlsson? :)
Interesting perspective! for a moment this reminded me of the roofs of Bern as seen from above...
with very best wishes from slightly cooled Moscow!

Fantastic rooftops. I do not have many photos of roof tops but I do have a thing about them too!
Thanks for sharing

So you have here the high POV. Very interesting roofs and camins. without eyes like in Sibiu but the colour of the tiles is beautiful. The houses are very close together, there is no space between them! Nice composition.

Hi Gert. A view from the top of the roofs. The houses close together. The photo has artistic quality. Well seen and realized. Regards, Wolfgang.

Aha! Very original, and well seen. This is great. I am thinking that perhaps every country is unique from this view....parts of old China for example. Fine work, kind regards,

Old town, old roofs and what so eye catching is the shapes and textures in natural colors. Clarity is good in excellent sharpness and well managed light. Good depth and perspective. Well done and thks for sharing

this is very, very nice. I especially like the colour combo of terracota and blue. beautifully composed/cropped with good hsrapness. And of course there is a nice, big, obvious triangle slap bang in the foreground. TE member graffer (Peter) would approve.
clio (27961) 2010-08-14 7:22
Beautiful patchwork. Your POV is excellent. I like a lot the idea to put this green triangle in the foreground.
Nice textures and colors.
A great one! Congratulations

The fish scale like tiles create a good graphic effect. Perspective is well created with the roof lines & chimneys and contrast created with the green wall. Lovely details indeed!
everlasting (15238) 2010-08-16 1:36
A fine patchwork filling the screen with lines and angles. I like the contrasting colours also. Only one house has a tv so it seems.

Hi Gert, I've been meaning to comment on this one for a while. Good use of texture and patterns to convey the architecture of the houses. Works well. cheers, Steve

Vision stops at the beginning of the century ... No satellite dishes, no air conditioning, no washing hung out, invisible threads...
I really like.
photoray (13981) 2010-10-28 7:51
Attractive bird's eye view of the detailed roof tiles in earth tones and offset with walls of blues.
KristinsCamera (2384) 2013-09-12 18:57
i love this shot, gert ~
a fascinating geometric display of eye-candy, with an appealing palette of aquas and reds. i wonder how many triangles and diamond shapes there are here?
very cleverly seen :)
macjake (69173) 2013-09-12 20:29
I noticed this photo of yours in the 'critiques' page, and i couldn't resist it.
at first i couldn't believe its your photo because its completely void of people!
I wonder if you got lost or something haha
all joking aside, I really like this one. its got that 3D like effect with the upfront and centre angled roof, and its a highly textural shot too.
I never knew you had it in you :)
Hope all is well
kato (11630) 2013-11-24 16:59
You're capturing well this crowded houses by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see this old town with crowded houses. It's also impressive in red tiled roof with triangle, chimney and blue wall. It looks like keeping a good color balance strangely, and remaining the atmosphere in medieval times.
ourania (47136) 2014-02-24 14:04
the tight composition and framing are superb, they make this original urban view very vibrant and fascinating. A great arrangement of perspectives and traditional architectural patterns, the textures are delightful to explore and the harmonious chromatic impression is based on a very rich palette of natural tones. Great sharpness and chromatic definition add to the captivating graphical impact and I think that this picture also conveys a lot about the daily life in this town and about its special atmosphere. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,

I think I have to see these roofs too. So I am going to Romania tomorrow. This is not the first case when after seeing your photos I go there. Your gallery is very provocative as you know ;)
I will stay in Brasov too.
Best wishes to you in 2015!
See you around!

Hej Gert.

Beautiful labyrinth of roof-tops covered with red, brown and grey tiles, Gert.
A POV from higher point, taken with perfect mild light.
Fine contrast with green wall on the FG.
My best regards,
