Sky and Roofs at Cincu Photo

Photographer’s Note

Another photo of the the 10-11 Romania TE meeting .
As usual, this is not the only photo of that place-other TE members captured it too. It is funny, according to my opinion, to see different versions of the same place.
The settlement of Cincu (or Schenk, in German) was founded in the 12th century by German colonists on a plateau set between the Olt and Hartibaciu rivers. Its German name, Schenk, comes from the German word for a "pub", called a "Schink". First documented in 1329, the settlement grew quickly in importance and soon became the seat of Schenk.
The church dedicated to The Virgin Mary is the largest Romanesque basilica ever to be found in a Saxon village. Another distinguishing aspect is its topographic positioning on a hill with steep slopes on three sides. This required the church to only need to be fortified on the western side.

Des couleurs chatoyantes pour cette petite colline et son église.Une belle harmonie entre la couleur de la flèche de ce clocher et ce bleu ciel.

Hi Andreea,
the place looks very picturesque as the company of the TE members as i saw from the uploaded photos.I like the brilliant light of the day, as the way that the red roofs contrast perfect with the blue of the sky.Well done.

Hello Andreea,

The wonderful autumn light renders great colours!
The usual medieval pattern was church/castle on top of the hill and the village around below, so here too...
A balanced composition with good details!

imi pare ca tu esti singura cine ne si explica ce am vizitat - mersi! Aceasta a fost cel mai bun punct pentru o poza, l-ai ales bine si a iesit o poza buna, unde toate elemente sunt in echilibru.

Beautiful sky and wispy clouds to make this lovely Romanian architecture to stand out against.
