Photographer’s Note
In a tranquil corner in the center of the city of Oradea (Latin: Varadinum, Hungarian: Nagyvárad, German: Großwardein) can be found this little known but beautiful church and monastery of the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God. It is an unusual 18th century baroque church (1760) with two towers and a central elliptical dome. The monastic buildings still house a pharmacy and hospital.
