Photographer’s Note

Pictured here is the imposing early-gothic main gate of the roman-catholic cathedral of Alba Iulia. The cathedral, built in the late 1100s and early 1200s, with later additions and transformations, is the seat of the Roman-Catholic Archdiocese of Alba Iulia and the most important architectural ensemble in Transylvania.
