Guten Morgen, Hermannstadt! Photo

Photographer’s Note

Look at these gorgeous early morning lights on the civic houses and the lutheran fortress-church of Sibiu (in German Hermannstadt, in Hungarian Nagyszeben). This rich city was settled by Saxons originated from Luxembourg during 12th century.

Twin cities, Sibiu and Luxembourg shared the title: Cultural Capital of Europe in 2007.

Enjoy the "Soksisch" accent (as local people call their own language) of Siebenburgen (Transylvania), at least in this photo.

PS.: Photo was taken after an eventful night of International Theatre Festival of Sibiu.

those small windows on the building on the left look like many eyes!
I like the light of course, this is one of the best situations for a landscape shot.

A great photo with a wonderful atmosphere, especially caused by this gorgeous light conditions. This dark sky creates a nearly breathtaking backdrop. A worth-seeing photo!

Hello Jalab,
I remember this square, in 2005 I visited Sibiu.
The morning light is really very beautiful here and specially with that dark clouded sky as a background. I also like the many beautiful architectural details, like the tower and the roof of the church and the five windows in the roof at the left side. These windows are so typical for Transylvania.

És semmi polárszűrő? Nagyon látványos, izgalmas kontrasztokkal van tele a kép, miközben az árnyékos részek is jól kiegyenlítettek. Hatásos az épített és a természeti látványosság (a kora reggeli fények) találkozása. Kár, hogy ilyen apró fájlméretet választottál, nem használ a részleteknek. Szerintem elbír némi élesítést, összehasonlításul küldök egy változatot a WS-ben.
Annak viszont külön örülök, hogy fölhívod a figyelmet arra, hogy a (lassan már csak egykori) erdélyi szászoknak nagyjából annyi közük van a birodalmi szászokhoz, mint a mi svábjainknak (akik döntően vagy bajor vagy frank származásúak) a württembergiekhez.
