Photographer’s Note

'with the death to party' or
'treated me a tractor and it was imperative to die'
you can read on these crosses:)

inventive and concrete,
naive and funny,
like those death people are presented himself,like in a CV:))and are more than 100 CV there.
the idea belongs to Stan Patras and dates from 1935,the crosses are beautiful engraving and colored by this artist with his apprentices.
their life is presented caricatured with the customs good and bad;
this cemetery is classifies in top ten of the greatest destinations funerals in the world.

Hello Florentina. Is a very colourful cemetery for sure. It does look more like a place of happiness than sorrow. Interestiny idea to compose the image. The clarity and good saturaton of colours is excellent here. Thanks for sharing :-)

Yes, this Romanian cementery is a lot more colorful than our sad and grim French ones!
Good tight framing of the crosses and tombs, nice sharpness and a good note too...

By the way: I know a small old cemetery in Hungary with funny inscriptions - but on usual grey stones.

Interesant ar fi fost sa postezi si cateva versuri, sunt tare dragute, buna compozitie, imi place ca imaginea ta desi luata dintr-un loc in care nu toti vrem sa ajungem prea devreme are o nota de pozitivism, de viata in ciuda norilor care se arata la orizont

Love it, love it, love it, Flory. It would worth a visit to your country just to see this amazing place. The idea is fantastic and it's great that people went along with the artist. In fact, I could imagine myself working on this field, spreading art in all the cemeteries of the world. Wonderful general composition here and lovely details in the WSs. Great post. Give us more ;-)

You show us how colourful it is in this lovely clear shot.

Very interesting shot with the colorful cemetery, quite possible it's the only one of this type in the world, nice decision of the families to go along with the artist. Your two WS are also very good. Great details and colors contrast.

Sunt putin mirat de reactiile pozitive la aceasta poza (e drept f atragatore ca si colorit). Poate fi moartea cuiva un eveniment asa de vesel? Ceva de care sa facem haz? Eu unul nu mi-as dori ca una din rudele mele sa fie inmormantata intr-un astfel de loc.
Mi s-ar parea o lipsa de respect la adresa raposatului/raposatei.
Sper ca nimeni sa nu fie deranjat ca mi-am spus deschis parerea.

Life is a miracle, as says the title of my favorite movie. I love your pictures because they say the same thing with colors instead of words. This one is no exception.
I can always find a smile in you pictures, like that with the guy in the tub on the roadside, or this cemetery.
Only the greatest artists are able to look at the world with childish eyes and find beauty in any of its components, even in death.

I owe to say that this cemetery is very cheerful and full of colours.I had not seen such colours and marble plates in the graves.Deads, i believe to be glad for this.

What an interesting subject... I have never seen a cimetary like this one.. It's a good idea: maybe peoples would come more often to visit the death people.
The colors are really good.
