In the "Bothanical Garden -Alexandru Borza "-The most beautiful garden in Romania and Eastern Europe; the visitors should start with this point in their trip arround the city of Cluj. The Bothanical Garden's birth year is 1872, when professor I. Istvanffy and professor A. Richter took the initiative of creating a unique garden, with a collection of european flora. At the begining there were only 4.34 ha used but after 1920 professor Alexandru Borza bought another 6 ha. He planned to rebuild the whole garden and his dream come true in 1930. Today, the Bothanical Garden take an area of 14 ha with more then 12,000 species of plants from all over the world, with an impressive collection of cactuses, one of them, unique in Europe, got the flower of his life in 1993. A big team of researchers and technicians created a huge network of hot houses with a modern system for simulating the tropical weather and artificial rain for the plants. Here you will find also a Bothanical Museum with more than 10,000 species of fosile plants. The tourist will enjoy also a very nice small Japanese Garden and a copy of a typical mountain microclimate with a small river, where he can walk and breath a fresh air in a quiet medium. Many of the people from the town come here late in the afternoon to relax and forget about the stress they had during the day.
But unfortunately -you can see in herer -human behavior |

Hello Lucia, i like the line in your photo-the trunk leads my eye up through the picture & the colours are sharp.
Unfortunately, it reminds me of my visit to Blanes (Spain) botanical gardens, where people had carved their names into the cacti & also Park Guell, Barcelona was the same.
It is one of many unfortunate sides of 'Human behaviour'.
Anyway, keep sharing, regards David.
